INSPIRING OTHERS WHO NEED INSPIRATION
“The drive and passion Gary has for life is infectious!”
– J. Steele
I am actively seeking speaking engagements that inspire people. From speaking to small groups about overcoming challenges in life, to teaching business leaders about courage, to motivating young people to reach for the top, to inspire those fighting cancer to beat it, to reading scripture or working with leaders on developing their faith. All of this is volunteer. I use my voice and my speaking skills to motivate and inspire others!
If you are in Columbus, Ohio, you can attend one of my Growth Cube Workshops which are being held monthly! We are testing live streaming to reach a wider audience. The workshops are educational and interactive, and many times include a panel of CEO’s who have done what you want to do! It is so exciting to share the concepts from my new book, The Growth Cube™, which is available now from the book website or on Amazon! If you are a small business owner or executive leader trying to get to higher levels – check out the The Growth Cube because it is packed with tools and techniques and unique ideas – that I have learned running 5 organizations successfully (and sometimes not so successfully!).
I have been doing many podcasts. I recently spoke on Voice America’s Business Series: ‘Innovative Leaders Driving Thriving Organizations’ with Maureen Metcalf. I was also a guest on Money Sense with Karen Ellenbecker where we broke down the Growth Cube concepts and talked about how they convert into financial growth of your company. I am also actively doing podcasts, most recently with my friends at Conquering Columbus and with Elio Harmon from 614 Startups.

At the last Columbus Startup Week, I presented a summary of my new startup company, Med-Compliance IQ. We have raised nearly $1M now in funding so we are very excited and on the market with our first product called WoundWiseIQ – which we believe will revolutionize the treatment of wounds and actually save lives! I am on the board of a Tech Incubator based in Grove City Ohio and conduct workshops and mentoring of startup CEOs there and partner with them on an innovative tool we created to help first time CEOs – check it out here! I have been a Tech Advisor at Rev1 Ventures and am very active in the Ohio Startup Community, and in fact have started 3 companies myself in the past 5 years! I do many talks in the Columbus area around these topics so please seek me out and let’s talk!
INSPIRING YOUNG PEOPLE
I would love to speak to your team or your organization. What topics? Leadership. Teamwork. Faith. Check out my ‘12 Challenges to Increasing Value‘ – this will give you some ideas to pick from! I speak to many groups about ‘How to Network with a High-Level Executive’, and ‘Engaging with a Partner’. You can also check out my blog for potential topics here.
If you pick up some of my tweets on track and field, it’s because I am the Track & Field announcer for Division 1 Olentangy Liberty Patriots High School. Each season, I announce 5-6 home meets including a state level competitive meet featuring 8 boys and 8 girls teams – the best in Central Ohio. I also have experience announcing road races and speaking at church. My goal with announcing and speaking is always the same – to inspire people!
Need a keynote or conference speaker, or simply someone to spice up your local church group or volunteer meetings? Connect with me and let’s put something together that can compliment your meeting theme or key idea, and to help inspire those in the audience. I recently spoke about Building a Culture of Energy at a NAWBO retreat; and have completed 3 talks recently for local organizations on ‘How to Beat Major Life Challenges’! I also had the privilege to do the commencement speech recently at my high school – ask me for a copy of my ‘9 Tips for the Graduating Senior‘.
My goal with these motivational talks is to be a positive influence on the group I am talking with, and to inspire them with tips on how to be stronger mentally, physically, and spiritually!
Let’s work on an Inspiring Event together!
FUND RAISING FOR CHILDREN FIGHTING CANCER
In 2017, I completed my 10th marathon! Each time, I dedicate my races to children fighting cancer. Why do I do it? I am going to share an excerpt from my new book, The Growth Cube:
I am going to share something personal with you. I have faced and beaten cancer! Now there is fear staring you in the face. I was so determined to win that I ran a marathon in the middle of radiation treatment. At the same time, I never missed an hour of work. In fact, I kept my work hours up at 70 hours a week the whole way. I did not choose to fight cancer – God chose that battle for me because He wanted me to take my game to the next level. And you know what? It made me a better man. A stronger man! It is one of the most significant and positive events in my life to this point. And it has inspired me to take the fight and the passion to help others with cancer – I call this passion “Gary’s Race,” and it did not end when I beat cancer. It includes fighting for children with cancer at Children’s Hospital who I now run for every year in the Columbus Marathon! I do this to inspire them, and in return they inspire me. I have taken my talks on the road. I have a talk on “How to Overcome Major Life Challenges” – where my message is simple: you can overcome any challenge in life if you strengthen yourself physically, mentally, and spiritually. God is using me to inspire others facing challenges.
At the 2017 Marathon, I ran for my 11-year old friend Jake Koch. Jake wanted to give back to help others, and we wanted to help him. In 2016, we ran to help my 13-year old friend Melanie, who is currently battling against multiple tumors in her body – she cannot be stopped. I love her slogan ‘Fight Like a Girl’, she inspires younger girls who look up to her! In 2015, running for my little Patient Champion Caroline (now cancer free!) and her butterfly, I broke 4 hours and ran my fastest Marathon (3:58; (9:05/mile pace)). I was recently featured by Columbus CEO magazine – which of course is an honor.
PIC BELOW: Haley Dominique at Childrens Hospital thanks us for our fund-raising efforts at the Columbus Marathon. We have consistently been in the top 5 individual fund-raiser running at the marathon each year! That is a result of very supportive family and friends! Also see pics of Caroline, and Mel, and Ian!
